The 2025 edition of Automotoretrò opened today at the Parma Exhibition Center, welcoming industry professionals for an exclusive day before opening its doors to the public for an entire weekend of automotive passion. Attendance is strong, with visitors browsing the stands in search of rare pieces, special editions, and, of course, the latest news in the collector's market. At our stand, enthusiasts and collectors can purchase the March issue of Ruoteclassiche and back issues, while Majorette offers the chance to customize their model cars, making each piece unique.
Masterpieces on Display
Dallara, a historic brand in sports car engineering, stands out with an exhibition space dedicated to the evolution of materials in motorsports. Four iconic models showcase this transformation: from aluminum and fiberglass bodies to modern composite materials such as carbon fiber, graphite, and the innovative flax fiber. A technological journey that highlights progress in racing.
The Delt1One Club Italia stand celebrates the 40th anniversary of the legendary Lancia Delta S4, featuring an exhibition that includes various ex-works models, including the rare S4 Evo 2 equipped with the revolutionary Triflux engine, a 1988 patent by engineers Sergio Limone and Claudio Lombardi. Alongside these gems, a perfectly preserved street version and the original assistance van with the historic Lancia Martini livery, unchanged since its last official appearance.
Ferrari: Timeless Icons
Also taking center stage are two Ferrari models of great allure: the 365 GTB/4 "Daytona" and the legendary F40, the latter recently used for Lewis Hamilton's official presentation in Maranello. Completing the setting is a striking photographic exhibition dedicated to Enzo Ferrari, curated by photographer Enzo Giovanelli, who captured the essence of the "Drake" over decades of exclusive shots. Also noteworthy is the exhibition "Women and Engines? Pure Joy," curated by Elisabetta Cozzi and photographed by Camilla Albertini for the Museo Fratelli Cozzi. The project celebrates 40 women who have made their mark in the automotive world, highlighting their passion and contributions to a traditionally male-dominated industry.
The American Dream on Wheels
Automotoretrò 2025 offers enthusiasts a glimpse into the golden era of American automobiles, with a selection of models that shaped history from the post-war period onward. Among the most fascinating pieces is a 1948 Cadillac that belonged to President Harry Truman and the first car driven by Elizabeth Taylor, a Cadillac gifted to her by her mother for her 16th birthday. Cinema lovers will appreciate the 1953 Cadillac and 1942 Buick featured in the film "Napoli - New York" by Gabriele Salvatores, as well as the 1953 Cadillac Convertible Coupe, seen in the recent TV series "Miss Fallaci."
A Market in Transition
The extensive vehicle exhibition also includes models at more accessible prices, indicating that dealers are adapting to current market trends, facilitating quick and advantageous deals for buyers. In some cases, sales are finalized in record time: a pair of German collectors purchased a Volkswagen Beetle 1.6 Cabriolet for €18,500 just hours after opening—a price above current market estimates, signaling renewed interest in the sector.
Collectibles and Memorabilia
The memorabilia sector remains vibrant, with a strong presence of model car exhibitors and still relatively affordable prices, reflecting a positive moment for collecting. However, the availability of mechanical and bodywork spare parts is more limited, which could present an opportunity for future exhibitors looking to tap into this niche market.
Automotoretrò 2025 reaffirms itself as an unmissable event for historic car enthusiasts, a journey through past and future that combines tradition, innovation, and pure passion for four-wheeled masterpieces.
